New To Lighthouse?

What should I expect?

The first thing you should expect is a warm welcome!  A typical service will generally include about thirty minutes of praise and worship and a thirty minute message by Pastor Sam. Pastor Sam often concludes his message with an altar call, which is simply an invitation for people to step forward for prayer.

Our church is led by Pastor Sam Mascareno, aptly supported by the Leadership Team and Staff.

What kind of church are you?

Lighthouse Christian Fellowship is a purposeful, forward-thinking, dynamic church located in the growing community of Chula Vista, CA. We are a friendly church that is active in our local community. Our music is lively and contemporary and the preaching practical and grounded in the Bible.  We unashamedly proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ, His death on the cross and His subsequent resurrection as described in the Bible, which is the final authority on all we that believe.

What's the music like?

Worship teams vary from a small band with drums, guitar, and keyboards to a full choir, but no matter the team or the style, the focus is always to give glory to Jesus.

The lyrics for all of the worship songs are projected onto screens for everyone to sing along. Some people like to raise their hands as they sing in adoration to God.

How do I get to your Church?

The Church is fairly easy to find once you know where it is! Check out our location page for a map and driving instructions to Lighthouse.

Which worship service should I come to?

We have a service at 9:00am and 11:30am. To the best of our ability, we try to make both services identical so that you don’t miss anything. The message and the songs are the same at both services.  In addition, we have a children’s program called “Lighthouse Kids” for children ages 5 – 9, and Happy Harbor.

During the week we have a number of small group gatherings throughout Chula Vista and the San Diego County area that meet in various people’s homes. Other groups meet at church during the week including the high school and young adult groups.

What is a Small Group?

A small group is typically made up of six to twelve people who meet regularly during the week to share about their lives, support one another, and study biblical truths. Each group has a host and a leader (or one person may host and lead). Groups meet in a number of different locations around San Diego County, including coffee shops, restaurants, the church, and schools, but typically they meet in homes. Most groups meet weekly during evening hours, but some meet once a month. Our goal is to accommodate the different needs of those in our church by offering a variety of options.

How do I get connected?

Joining a small group is simple.  All you have to do, while you are at Lighthouse, is fill-out a “Connect Card” or contact one of our administrative staff.  For your convenience you can even sign-up on line at groups.  Not sure which group to join? Our goal is to help you find a group best for you! If you would like help finding a good fit, please contact us at ; If you are not currently in a small group, now is the time to join one!
