Our History
Lighthouse Christian Fellowship was formed by a group of believers who had a desire to start a new church in the city of Chula Vista. Armed with passion and vision, our fellowship was launched in November of 1999.
We began meeting in an Elementary School auditorium, with all the challenges that came with it. During our time there we learned many important and life-changing lessons, including the realization that God was not restricted to church buildings. We were able to see God do miraculous things in the middle of an auditorium that was decorated as a jungle, a 50's sock-hop, an "Under the Sea" paradise, and many other themes related to whatever activity the school had the days before our worship service. It was always an adventure to show up on Sundays and discover what environment we would worship in.
During our first three years, the Lord helped us reach new people and, as the membership grew, we all learned to give faithfully to His work. In October of 2002, we came across an opportunity to purchase a facility. Trusting God, and against all odds, we were able to secure the purchase of our existing campus. We have been blessed to have our own place, and it has helped us to reach even more people and offer a variety of new programs and activities.
With the help of God, we have become a thriving group of believers that enjoys serving God and living meaningful lives of purpose. We have a strong vision to become a great church that is equipped to meet the needs of our community and we are excited about the great future that awaits us, as we continue to seek to shine brightly with the Light of the Gospel.
